- A brown or greenish brown ring of copper deposits around the cornea that is characteristic of Wilson's disease.
Kayser, Bernhard (1869-1954), and Fleischer, Bruno Otto (1874-1965), German ophthalmologists. Kayser described the corneal ring that is a diagnostic symptom of Wilson's disease in 1902. Fleischer published his own description.
