Synonym(s)
Definition(s)
- A cytogenetic
technique that uses specialized banding procedures (replication banding)
to identify the late-replicating (inactive) X chromosome in cells. Because
it is less complicated, less expensive, and less subjective, molecular testing
is now used more commonly than replication analysis for X-chromosome inactivation
studies.
